New Expanded State and Local Tax Deduction

Before a recent law change, individuals were allowed to deduct 10K maximum on their personal tax return.  Now, individuals can deduct 40K of state and local taxes on their individual return in 2025 if their total income is below 500K.  This will allow many more people to itemize deductions in 2025 versus in earlier years, thus making charitable contribution deductions more useable.
